UPSIDER, Inc. (“We”, “us”, or “our”) strives to provide an environment in which candidates can focus on their job search with peace of mind throughout our recruitment and selection process.

To this end, we are fully committed to ensuring that all of our employees, including interviewers, prevent every form of harassment during the recruitment process, including sexual harassment and abuse of power.

The following conduct is strictly prohibited in all of our recruitment activities:

  • ・Asking interview questions unrelated to the job (e.g., about appearance, age, marital status, or romantic history)
  • ・Physical contact, or sexual or discriminatory remarks
  • ・Inviting candidates into private relationships or personal socializing, coercing them into sexual relationships, or any similar conduct
  • ・Asking candidates for their personal contact information
  • ・Sending or distributing obscene images, videos, or other materials

We will take all measures necessary to protect your privacy. The details of your consultation and your personal information will never be disclosed to the person involved without your consent.

We have informed all of our employees of the following rules, which they are required to observe.

Employees must comply with the following rules in every situation involving contact with candidates, including interviews, alumni visits, and social gatherings.

  1. (1) Appropriate time and place

    As a general rule, interviews and meetings must be held between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., in a company meeting room or a public place designated by the company (such as a café).

    Meetings, meals, or drinks in closed or private spaces are strictly prohibited.

    Employees must not pressure candidates into late-night meals or excessive entertainment involving alcohol.

  2. (2) No personal questions or remarks unrelated to the job

    Employees must not ask about or refer to personal matters unrelated to a candidate’s ability to perform the job, such as appearance, age, relationship status, or plans for marriage or children.

    Employees must not make sexual jokes or teasing remarks, or intentionally touch candidates.

    Employees must not demand a personal relationship (such as dining out together or dating) in return for inducements such as “we will give you an offer” or “it will work in your favor in the selection process.”

  3. (3) Appropriate means of communication

    As a general rule, communication with candidates must be conducted using company-issued PCs or smartphones and company email addresses.

    Direct communication through personal social media accounts is generally prohibited, except where essential for business purposes.
