  • Full Flextime

    You can work without core hours, except late at night and early in the morning. Teamwork and a commitment to results come first, with the flexibility to balance private plans such as medical appointments and school pick-ups and drop-offs.

  • Hybrid: Remote & Office

    A hybrid style that makes the most of remote work while valuing in-person collaboration. Office rules vary by team—from fully remote to coming in 3–4 days a week—so each team deepens discussion and collaboration in the way that suits it best.

  • AI Environment

    We provide tools suited to each team, such as Claude and GitHub Copilot. An AI-enabled environment for every employee.

Time Off

  • Startup Leave

    Leave you can use right after joining—before annual paid leave is granted—when you need time off for reasons such as illness or childcare. Three days are granted as soon as you join.

  • Summer Leave

    Leave you can take on your own timing between July and September. Three days are granted each year.

  • Maternity & Childcare Leave

    We have programs that support life-stage changes, including maternity, childcare, and family-care leave. Many male employees have taken childcare leave, too!

Selection Process

What is the selection process?
Document screening → casual interview → interviews (about 2–3 rounds) → offer meeting → offer. The process may vary depending on the position.
Can I apply for multiple positions?
Yes. Please apply via Open Positions and note your desired position(s) in the “Message to the hiring team” field.
What if I'm unsure which position to apply for?
Please apply via Open Positions. As we talk, we’ll suggest the position that best fits your wishes and aptitude.
How are application documents handled and returned, and how is personal information managed?
Personal information such as résumés and work histories is managed and stored appropriately in accordance with our privacy policy, and is properly disposed of after the selection process. Please note that submitted documents and data cannot be returned. For our privacy policy, please see here.
What should I prepare and wear on the day of the interview?
Please submit your résumé and work history in PDF format in advance, and join the selection in casual attire.

Work Environment

What are the working hours?
We have adopted a full flextime system. All members work while coordinating with one another so that each can deliver results autonomously.
How often do people work remotely?
Each team sets its own rules — some teams are fully remote, while others require coming into the office about three days a week. Please ask during the selection process for details.
Tell me about the offices.

UPSIDER has offices in Roppongi, Shibuya, and Osaka. On regular office days, members gather at the open, spacious Shibuya office, where lively cross-departmental communication takes place. The offices use free-address seating and are equipped with private booths. There are also coffee machines and a small in-office convenience store, making for a comfortable environment.

What benefits do you offer?
We provide full social insurance, including health insurance, employees’ pension, employment insurance, and nursing-care insurance. We have maternity and childcare leave programs, applied within the scope of the VC Startup Health Insurance Society.
What are the working styles of employees who are married or have children?
Because our environment lets you work without being bound by time or place, you can work flexibly while balancing childcare. Some male employees leave early for nursery drop-off and pick-up, and others balance work with caring for their parents. Are side jobs allowed?
Side jobs are allowed as long as they do not interfere with your work at UPSIDER. They are subject to a permission system, so prior application and approval are required.
What communication tools do you use?
We primarily use Google Workspace, Slack, and Notion, with each team using the additional tools it needs.
Can I choose my PC?
You can choose between Windows and MacBook.

Programs & Benefits

Tell me about the annual paid leave system.

After three days of Startup Leave (special leave) granted upon joining, employees who have been with the company for six months and have worked at least 80% of scheduled working days are granted 10 days of annual paid leave. Thereafter, leave is granted for each additional year of continuous service as follows.
